Delaware plan for AI-run companies draws liability concerns
Delaware plans to ease business rules to permit registration of companies run by AI agents, with a proposed 30-month regulatory sandbox for supervised testing. House Oversight Committee chair James Comer has written to Governor Matt Meyer, warning that the framework could shield AI companies and investors from liability for reckless conduct that causes harm.

What to know
- 01
Under the draft, AI agents would make business decisions during testing in a supervised environment.
- 02
AI-run companies could be sued and could also bring lawsuits when necessary, like conventional businesses.
Why it matters
The proposal concerns how AI-run businesses would gain legal recognition while being subject to oversight and liability.
