Rohit Patel leaves Meta to build AI-native office software at Ndoc
Rohit Patel has left Meta after eight years in AI research and founded Ndoc to develop AI-native office software intended to replace Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. It aims to bring data analysis, explanatory text and presentations into one workspace, reducing tool switching and copying content into ChatGPT.

What to know
- 01
Ndoc combines Stage for presenting content, Narrative for analysis and explanations, and Model for underlying datasets and Python scripts in one interface.
- 02
Documents can be exported as standalone .ndoc.html files that open in browsers; Patel wants to make the format open source.
Why it matters
Ndoc’s stated focus is fragmented office work, with the goal of unifying the workspace rather than simply adding AI tools to existing workflows.
