Tencent WorkBuddy adds live desktop viewing and remote control from phones
Tencent WorkBuddy has introduced remote computer control with technical support from Tencent’s Edge One team. Users can view the desktop live on their phones, monitor Agent actions and take control directly. A floating desktop window appears on the app’s home or conversation screen while the input field remains available, allowing users to correct tasks that go off track.

What to know
- 01
The feature requires mobile app v2.7.0 or later and macOS desktop app v5.9.3 or later, plus a remote-control component, connection settings and permissions enabled on the computer.
- 02
Tencent says only one authenticated phone can connect to a computer at a time. Screen content and controls use encrypted channels, with no user inputs recorded or remote-control footage saved; remote control uses data but no tokens.
Why it matters
The feature extends mobile task monitoring to live desktop control, but the computer must remain powered on and WorkBuddy must stay online.
